Germany is home to lots of hearty and delicious dishes that are quite specific to its people. A trip to the capital would be incomplete without trying some.

A few you could expect to find include, currywurst, which is served with most street food, like bread rolls and fries. It is a mix of curry powder, tomato sauce and Worcester sauce. There’s also Wiener Schnitzel which consists of slices of veal, covered in bread crumbs, flour and egg and then deep fried. It is always served with potatoes, and can also be made with chicken breast or pork instead of veal.

Another food to try is delicious senfeier, the ultimate comfort food. Made of eggs that are either hard boiled or poached served alongside mashed potatoes and covered in mustard sauce, this is one tasty German dish.
