Known previously as Airzena, the privately owned Georgian Airways is the flag carrier of Georgia and flies to 22 destinations. The main base of the airline is Tbilisi International Airport, with its head office in Tbilisi.
Established in 1993 as Airzena, the airline originally operated charter flights to China, Egypt, Italy, United Arab Emirates, Syria, India and Austria. It became the flag carrier of Georgia in 1999, and the name was changed from Airzena to Georgian Airways in 2004. From then onwards the airline went on to further modernize and develop its fleet. The General Director of Georgian Airways is Givi Davitashvili, and the highest priority of the airline is safety. The safe and reliable air transportation of its passenger and cargo with excellent customer service, is the main focus of Georgian Airlines.
